Why give the Lite kit away?

Most autoblog plugins on WordPress.org either (a) charge $30 for the “real” version while the free one barely works, or (b) cap the free version at three articles a month so you’re forced to upgrade before you’ve even decided if the plugin fits your workflow.

Neither approach earns trust. Both also violate WordPress.org guideline 5 (no time-limited or usage-capped free plugins). We follow the rules and we think the rules are right: if you’re going to ship something free, ship something useful.

The Lite plugin earns its keep. People install it, generate ten or twenty articles, decide they want AutoPilot and the humaniser, and come back for Pro. The conversion math works because the free version isn’t crippled — it’s just the manual-mode version of the same engine.
